Yes, she makes egregious mistakes. Most liberals of the time supported the Cold War. Liberals as such did not "collaborate" with Stalin. Fellow travellers were in the minority, at least since the Hitler- Stalin Pact and the demise of the Popular Front in the late '30s. Ronald Radosh, who has done more to prove that there was Soviet penetration of the government than most scholars, and whose work she refers to, asserts that she distorts his work, and that while McCarthy was right that there were Communists in the State Department, he was reckless in making the charges, and failed to adequately substantiate them, thus harming the anti- Communist cause.....
