Yes, the answer is very simple ... just move! There are many midwestern states where housing is cheap, and the state and city will actually give you money to move there! They will also provide tax free business incentives ... all you have to do is show them that you'll bring good paying jobs. I'm always amused by people who think the talent only resides in Silicon Valley ... it's everywhere, just bring the jobs.

Regards,

Dave

.....(whether they were affiliated with psft or not) knew they had a good thing and refused to leave.......But no, instead the long time owners choose to rent their properties and pocket the money and pleasanton is broke.......

Where O where did you see any numbers to show Pleasanton is broke?

So where else can tech go...

It seems that companies have already chosen not to keep their tech jobs in such a high cost area.

<Washington is good and as you know there is a tech hub there>

Yuppo, plenty of jobs around here,,,,as unemployment is second or third worst in the nation...but maybe MSFT will rescue us,,,maybe they won't find out about China or India<g's>.

Whether there is an analogy here or not, Boeing WAS the bread and butter for our area, maybe similar to what the institutions did for SV as BA did for Seattle and vicinity. Well, BA, due to taxation, environmental impact issues, cheap labor elsewhere, etc., are on their way out to greener pastures. Not saying this will occur to SV, but bounce the notion off the Pacific Nothwesterners who would have never imagined in their wildest dreams that BA would no longer be synonymous with Seattle? Wow, the going was good for the employees of BA with their arguably extremely high wages for many years...

besides, who wants the rain?...
