well, many jobs are leaving, but they are going offshore.

I have to tell you though, we had some folks from Ohio out in the last startup company I worked with, and just as a general point, I don't think they were the best folks for the startup atmosphere. This is a gross generalization... I know. But for example some of them had experience at Proctor and Gamble. This is a good body of knowledge for a startup, knowing the user perspective. Problem was, on more than one occasion these people exibited what I will call big company behavior, for example spending way too much time on organizational structures vs. getting their hands dirty into the code and improving the actual product delivered. Management positions in startups are really all doer types of jobs and politics just don't play well... the reality is, spending X number of years at P&G can very well mean you don't know how to do anything but swim in the political sharktank.
