The way I see it China is accumulating USD assets as are other not so friendly governments/entities.

Sometime in the future if those governments will not get their way with US policies they will just dump their US holdings mostly agency and treasury paper.

IMHO this will create such a turmoil in financial market that the US will have no choice but to succumb to their demands ...... for example the annexation of Taiwan to China

If China will loose 10 billion USD from the exercise it will be for sure cheaper than a war or close to a war. China's return on investment will be less that an year
