In all fairness we need to give Reagan credit for speeding up the fall. He increased the deficet every year in office to record levels to build up an amazing military empire. The Soviets fearing invasion by the US simply spent themselves into bankruptcy trying to keep up. Yes capitalism is superior to communisim in it's ability to get things done. But then we are still paying off the crippling debt and will be for generations, assuming that eventually politicians get realistic and stop spending more than we make. Orca
