the suv problem is a reflection of the voters.. If they vote to increase gas mileage make smaller cars,, make us conserve more (like Carter turn down the temp winter. in your house or turn up the temp in summer.) out they go...

We got too many green people costing us big time bucks for energy already... Natural gas shortage. how much is caused by electric plants using turbines that burn gas vs heavy oils or coal.. how about chemical industry using natural gas vs alternative fuels.. the Poor chap paying his electric bill or gas bill last winter and this winter.. thanks to green folks... I vote for tax incentives to have these corporations to go back to coal etc.

The point to consider when considering maintaining oil supply from Saudia Arabia,Iraq and Kuwait is that it is not a choice between cheap oil / SUV's and expensive oil / 4 cylinder cars / conservation.

The issue is either we have oil adequately supplied or we have vast economic devastation, destruction, hunger, anarchy and pestilence.

Yes, it is that simple.
