Lurger...great message...it's unfortunate so many Westerners have little interest in understanding the history, makeup, and politics of the ME. The US and British planners have, unfortunately, forgotten their history in this part of the world as well...The Arab world's heritage is tribal...while these tribes have had many deadly skirmishes over the centuries...one thing they agree on...meddling outsiders are not welcome...over the last century, the French, the Germans, the Brits, the US, and others... all learned this the hard way...the only time we have managed to make friends is when we bribed and propped-up an appropriate puppet...all eventually fail or turn on us...

It would be easy to dismiss your post as merely another manifestation of appalling ignorance. One of us lived in the Middle East most of her life, surrounded by Muslims, some of them entirely too fanatic to be pleasant. One of us had to learn quite a bit about that religion, in order to survive as an "infidel". One of us is fluent in a couple of ME languages and still follows the news and issues of the region in their own language. And that ain't you, mister. Careful who you call "ignorant", for that sometimes shows the level of your own familiarity, or lack thereof, to the subject. If I tell you those guys in some university in Egypt don't matter in conjuring up a Jihad, it's because they don't.
