Saddam was operating his torture chambers, which were pratcially in every town, until the bitter end. Iraqi citizens tortured to death were being buried in unmarked graves right to the start of the U.S. invasion. That is the greater misery, not the invasion. The hundreds of thousands dead is the greater misery, greater than the, regretable, 6,000 dead you enjoy touting so much.
