RE: "...just think what would have happened if they didn't speak up when they did." The futures were slightly lower (-2 NASDAQ) before the INTC announcement. Without the INTC "speak", the NASDAQ would have opened down 2-5, trended lower to down 10-15 at 1 pm, and then rallied the rest of the session to close up 5-10. The big move in reaction to INTC (+35) on top of recent rally gains, set the market up for a day long correction. I suspect Monday will look like my description of Friday without INTC.
