That is neither "simpler" nor convincing. The UN has something that the US alone can never have in Iraq -- some hope of gaining legitimacy.

I think there was an element of legitimacy to the Crusades and early on against the Jews..........it is not the same today.

Today it is more of just an evil hatred against all things Western , all the signs of the good life that their leaders have deprived them of.....Jobs, Schools, a decent existence of day to day life.

Yassir Arafat has almost single handedly created an entire culture of Terror and hatred...........

The other Arab leaders instead of helping the Palestinian people have allowed Arafat to continue his misguided politics.........it has spread and festered over until it is now common in the ME to be a suicide martyr at age 14........for what.........
