<<A draft is confiscation of a person's life against their will. >>

Is it. I volunteered for the draft Dec. 23 1969. I had 244 on the scale.

<<It's a throwback to the era of feudalism where humans were the property of the ruler or state.>>

Where would the world be without the history of the draft in the USA? Think of the Civil War, WWI & WWII.

Freedom has a very high price, and there are too many paying the price because they had few other opportunities. Opposite the samurai class is the elite class the vast majority who whose contribution to our freedom will be to pay taxes to support the samurai class. The others can hide behind their ideals and their sheep.

<A draft is confiscation of a person's life against their will.>

If all armies were volunteer,
and all wars were financed pay-as-you-go,
and the sons and daughters of decision-makers
were always front-line troops,
would there be any wars?
