Petting minorities (and extremes) within a two-party system is a fun process, the way Nixon said it, one of classic quotes.
(this obviously demands some knowledge of what Nixon said on two-party systems)

"affirmative action" and redistricting, Jim and Jerry Mander-Crow makes the joke even better...
(this too demands some knowledge)

However, some claim that in another 300 years it will not be that important and funny anymore, others are hoping on 100 years, some few in the minority talks about 50 years.

It is like seat-belts and a million other differences. Every county/province does something different to see where it goes. Don't get too excited about it. Just try to sell the manure...

It is just another statistical game for the big-wigs. It is based on a pragmatic experiment. It is not based on principle--per se.
