The SAT and similar tests are "preped for" a LOT more than they used to be. When I took them very few people took prep classes. The teachers even told you it doesn't help which is NOT TRUE. I wouldn't be surprised if you could find the test questions on line on a brain dump site. If not the exact questions then similar ones covering the proper areas.

On top of that, they may have dumbed down the tests.

The ISAT isn't the same thing (but the same principles apply, methinks). BTW, do you have a link for EVERYTHING?!<G>

EDIT: I see further down, your link has a reference to a site on SAT "dumbing down":

This is a nice read:

Is it any wonder programming and engineering jobs are moving overseas? We're getting soft as a nation, and it's weakening the economic underpinnings of our democracy!<NG>

The SAT score adjustment over time reveals something interesting about our society.

While the scoring for the Math portion of the SAT has been little changed over time, the Verbal portion of the SAT has been made easier by adjusted scores upward significantly.

I am startled by the large number of native born Americans who are not fluent in English, even on Silicon Investor. They cannot correctly express what they intend, even when overlooking their horrific grammar and spelling.

I personally think this is due to people reading less and watching television and films more. Just a hunch.

Published comparisons of educational achievement test standard scores are often misleading. Newspapers reports are almost meaningless. Standard error of measurement is almost never discussed.
