So tell me again: We went in because ....... ?

Results or lack of them will ultimately make this war successful or not. If the wmds are bekka valley, do you change your mind then. If there were never wmds do i change mine. Today is day one LL and this admin has to do better at pacification than it has so far. It is that simple. No need to panic yet. mike

Lazzzzz..have you seen the 30 planes that Suddam had buried??? There are several pictures if the planes that were found in Iraq recently.

Tell me, if they could bury PLANES......in the SAME area that had been previously searched.......How much effort would it take to bury a few barrels of chemicals and/or bio weapons..........??????????????????????

If you had some to bury any place you wanted to in the entire state of CA, where would you bury them? Houses, mosques, tunnels, in the desert, in Lebannon or Syria, or where????????/

"There are no WMD. Face it."

I'll be interested in your POV after David Kay's report in
a couple of months.

"There is no connection to al qaeda."

That's debatable. What wasn't debatable were SH's ties to
terrorist groups & the global war on terrorism. His
financial support to known terrorist groups outside of
Iraq, plus his harboring & training them inside Iraq are
well documented.

"So tell me again: We went in because ....... ?"

FWIW, it wasn't because there were or were not WMD's, but
because SH failed to comply with UN resolutions that, among
other things, included turning over all WMD's & WMD
programs to inspectors immediately for their complete
destruction. For 12 long years, SH absolutely failed to
comply. 9/11 brought an end to this BS game of hide & seek
with the UN.

It was also about SH's known ties to known terrorist groups
as discussed above, perhaps including Al Qaeda. The global
war on terrorism was never about Al Qaeda only. That is
absolutely irrefutable.

BTW, in February, Hans Blix ordered over 100 Al Samoud 2
missiles and machinery to produce missile motors because
they exceed the 93-mile limit set by a U.N. resolutions at
the end of the 1991 Gulf War. One example of numerous
clear, irrefutable violations of 18 UN resolutions still
occurring in 2003.

Those two mobile WMD labs will be hard to spin into some
harmless, yet ridiculously expensive mobile (fill in the
blank) IMO.

Iraq's centrifuge programme for it's nuclear program will
need lots of spin as well.

Etc., etc., etc.

I wonder why it's so important to change the President's
precisely stated reasons into something he never said &
then act indignant as if the President was the one
misleading everyone?

The Vietnam War did not have massive demonstrations even BEFORE it started.

Before the Vietnam War, there was no Vietnam War to popularize anti-war sentiment amongst radicalized college students and nostalgic old liberals. Anti-war demonstrating is now a spectator sport.
