Did you mention ricardian equivalence?

I spared her the equations. -g-

A republican friend of mine was railing against home depot and wal mart the other day. Saying how they were driving the little guys out of business. I said, “By offering lower prices? How is that bad?” My friend said, “Because they’re monopolies.”

My Home Depot has been hard hit by Lowes, but it made them get a little more on the ball. The True Value Hardware store still gets a lot of our business because of the service aspect. It isn't all about price.

Same with Walmart, a Super Center came to the little town I do my grocery store. It quickly put the Kmart out of its misery, but the three grocery stores fought back. The one I call the "smelly one" looks near death but the one I always liked best just opened in a new location directly across from the Walmart. I was in it the other night and I was wowed. They managed to find every little niche that Walmart doesn't do well and exploit it.
