The object was for Saddam to prove that he had disarmed. From day one he choose not to. Ask yourself why he did not.

The only rational conclusion you can draw from his actions was that he had not disarmed.

If we waited until the U.N. inspectors inspected as much as our troops have inspected so far it would have taken 10 years, and they would have found nothing.

But they would have spent perhaps a half a year, and then left, proclaiming all was clear. And Saddam then would change his plan from hide the missile to bring the missile back.

You can't be that naive.
