Ted, I agree with his first statement. Effective liberation of the Iraqis can only happen by the involvement of Iraqis. And he's also right that for a long time we supported a brutal Saddam for our own purposes.

Look at the context in which he makes those statements. Everything America does is wrong. Supporting a brutal dictator was wrong, and taking out the very dictator we supported (but now regret supporting) was wrong too.

Anyone who opposes America are heroes in his mind. This includes the communists in Vietnam who, to this day, continue to make that place a third-world country. This includes the inhumane warlords who attacked American soldiers in Mogadishu, the very soldiers sent to deliver humanitarian aid to starving Somalis.

This guy is a true anti-American nutjob. He even considers the label "American" as a product of "U.S. imperial chauvinism." What a maroon.
