There is ample evidence that children learn at an early age. If you try to instill Democrat Party principles in kids of "Blame America First", then those children will grow up as antiAmerican Democrats. You wrote:" It would also appear that the pledge is only good for 24 hours except on weekends when it is good for at least 48 hours." Nonsense. I learned the Pledge, in school, as a child. It instilled pride in me in our country, and it still gives me pride when I hear it said. The Pledge means a lot and taught me that I should have respect for, and support my country. Allegiance to our country should be mandatory until a child is out of public schools. Patriotism means a lot to me. I want our schools to instill the same patriotism for our country that I learned. This is the greatest country that has ever existed, and America is solely responsible for keeping this world free for democracy. You wrote:"Have you ever heard any kid say he has pride in America because he says the pledge??? " Saluting the flag and saying the pledge does instill pride. But it is also important for children to learn that they MUST pledge allegiance to our country. Freedom isn't free. Many American men and women died for that flag, and for our country. The least that the little brats can do is take the pledge! <g> You wrote:"Why don't adults say the pledge every day at work??? Would that please you?" They are out of school. By the time one is an adult their patriotism and allegiance has either been formed, or they have become Democrats. You wrote:"How do you know most Democrats are liars???" Almost ALL Democrats are calling President Bush a liar. There is absolutely no proof of that. It is a blatant lie which is told over and over again by most Democrats. Could President Bush be a liar? Possibly. But until there is specific evidence, I will continue to consider Bush one of the most ethical, honorable men in office.
