RE: "US needs to upgrade its labor force with greater training for higher productivity jobs..."

Citron in Wonderland! What methods do we have to "upgrade" that are unavailable to the Indian government. What "higher productivity jobs" are going begging for labor with "greater training"?

American will fill jobs that can't be exported and we will create new entrepreneurial niches that take time to be copied and exported.

RE: "No cuase for alarm"

I oppose protectionism and quotas, but an "alarm" should sound that more and more Americans will be employed at jobs that don't provide health care or retirement benefits and the society must step in to provide, at least, minimum safety net .

That has been the mantra until now..

'upgrading it's labour force' lots of these jobs are in what I would consider 'upgraded labour force' In any case, time will tell whether thousands of IT and related jobs are immaterial or not..
