What do you mean medical care jobs "can't be exported"? Have you been inside a hospital lately? Docs, RNs, LVNs, CNAs: nearly half are immigrants, while the medical transcriptions take place overnight in India. In the strict sense of the phrase, you are right, of course. Most of these jobs stay right here, so the local community benefits more directly. But it is never a zero sum game. I as a consumer frequently benefit from trends that may be injurious to my competitive position as a producer. However, it should be noted that it is not unheard of to migrate to receive better or cheaper medical care abroad.
