Of course, when he talks, he's being brave and courageous, and has a few grains of truth in his words. When Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh talk, they're being partisan and inflammatory. Gee, looks like we've come back to that "center of gravity" thing. Do you deny that tree hangings of blacks was a fairly regular event in our South well into the 20th century? Do you deny that we illegally annexed Puerto Rico, the Phillippines, and a part of Cuba in the late 19th century over a dispute with Spain? Do you deny that the contra costa affair happened? Do you deny that we dropped atom bombs on two Japanese cities, instantly killing thousands and thousands of people? Do you deny we supported Saddam, a brutal dictator, all through the 80s? Do you deny that slavery was legal in these united states until 1865? Do you deny we are the most violent first world nation in the world? Do you deny that discrimination was legal in this country a hundred years after the Civil War? Do you deny that we orchestrated gov't overthrows in Central and Latin America on a regular basis and probably still do? Do you deny that we have never had a black or a Latino or a Jew or a Muslim or a woman or an Asian or Native American as president in spite of the fact they exist in significant numbers in our culture? Do you deny that the KKK and the Aryan Nation are alive and well in these united states? Do you deny we have more guns per capita than any other nation on earth? A. Coulter is saying that Nixon and McCarthy were falsely accused and that really, they are good guys.....in spite of the fact that Nixon resigned in disgrace and McCarthy was censored by his peers in the US Senate. How is this idiocy of Coulter's the same as the issues above which I'm sure De Genova is referring to in his criticism of the US? ted

I see you're trying to steer the topic away from De Genova, who believes in the opposite, that all past and future American policy is evil and should be opposed, even if it means calling for the deaths of American soldiers. And I see that you are failing to address my point, which is that you earn your stripes everyday. I didn't even know this guy, his message is as stridently aggressive as his Coulter's, Rush and others. So what's your point. Gee, looks like we've come back to that "center of gravity" thing. I think you are a frustrated physicist after all.. I never debated that. But our resolve was lacking. We underestimated how bad the hornet's nest really was. And we paid for it with American lives and a shameful retreat that has encouraged our enemies to this day. But hey, according to Prof. De Genova, that was a good thing. Obviously you don't agree. Everytime one of our soldiers is killed a spear pierces my heart...so, indeed, I don't agree that what happened in Somalia was a good thing...anymore than I do what is happening in Iraq today, nor what happened in Vietnam.
