True, but the purpose of the call center is to enable people to get back to work. The failure in logic on behalf of the government is not to realize the act of exporting jobs to India destroys the purpose of the call center. There are other points to be made to. The quality of service. Is a person working in the same country going to be more helpful? I am not saying either way. Like an engineer my answer is to always measure it. It's a reflex action. -g- i.e. Open two call centers, one in the UK and one in India. Send half of the jobs to each. Then monitor the results from both... Thus creating another job (of course -g-) I realize the tax implication, but having a load of unemployed people doing nothing is of no use to anyone.
