I'm not really rich anymore.

I am surprised to hear this. I have thought of you as a swift, agile investor captilizing on trends and sentiment. I had the distinct impresson that you loaded up on Amazon, Yahoo and E Bay last year at low prices, all of which have been some of the best performing stocks over the last year or so. I am generally too conservative to capitalize on those trends that you play.

Regards,

Huey

lizzie, i agree with just about everything you posted.

i hope your definition of "not really rich anymore" is something that would make us all say, "the nerve!" -lol- i do hope you are doing well when you keep perspective.

my hope and guess is you are much better off than in, say 1998. more than you can imagine.

anyway, that's precisely why i don't like bubbles. they lead to bad decisions. too many restaurants means PAIN all around.

if the economy wasn't bubblized, we would have rational restaurant business expansion and less pain, long term.

imho, programming is easier to outsource than mfg. the ease of info flow across the net makes this all possible.

i'm in the process of starting my own auto dealership (low budget enterprise to start, primarily buy to order) and may well get into real estate, too. my bud is selling houses like hotcakes and wants me in.

i'm fed up with the mfg rat race. i'm to the point where overseas can have it!

i don't mind the work, the management styles suck the big egg. the focus is blame and beat, not fix the problem and move forward.

ps - i'm programming my own web site using html, css and php. my repetitive code is totally modular - change in one location, whole sit is updated. :-)

my next project is to learn to use PHP to interact with postgresql.

i have some limited db development experience with VB and Access - although the dbs i developed were very useful.

i may be able to et up web based programs and go from there - first for my car biz and then maybe for other businesses.

we'll see. but i HATE working where i am right now. i liekly won't last much longer.

should be fun.
