larry, i try my best to respond to each and every one of your questions... some in great detail.

but i have asked some questions of you which have gone unanswered.

since i did put time and effort into the subject at hand, it would be nice to hear back from you

these posts have to do with your assertion that you are not given a choice to open and run the files you are about to download, that you can only save to disk.

i did investigate and i did involve others in an effort to find a solution

if the subject is one you no longer want to pursue, that's cool. but a response or two would be appreciated

"what does it mean: "it uses ZA's VSMON.VXD as its host" is it still safe to use ZA.?"

yes it's safe

unless the trojan shows up.

the post you reference is about a worm that places a trojan in a zonealarm driver file.

all uninvited guests have to take up residence somewhere on a hard drive. this one chooses to live in a za file.

keep in mind that a firewall alone is defenseless against a trojan entering your machine.... that's why we run AVs and ATs.

but when a trojan decides to live in a zonealarm .vxd file, it's hiding itself in a security program, thereby making things like removal quite complicated, not to mention ironic... or as nancy said, Phunky.
