You're right, Rick. From Salem's Hex:I'm outta words when it comes to expressing how so many people still won't let the Clinton Administration die. All because of Monica. How sad. And even sadder, it has absolutely nothing to do with the mess we're in today.
You say the left is hypocritical?? Hmm, let's see now. The conservatives demanded Clinton be impeached for a blowj*ob he lied about. Never mind he never lied us into a war. And never mind the economy was fine during his eight yrs. "I never had sex with that woman" meant he needed to go. End of story.

We now have a president who's totally destroyed this economy. A president who's given us a record deficit that our children and grandchildren will pay for for yrs to come. A president who's given us record unemployment numbers. A president who's put every state into bankruptcy. A president who lied to us about education reform. A president who lied to us when he said he wanted a government that was run by the people.

But, the biggest lie of all was Iraq. He lied us into a war. Over 40,000 Iraqi people have died so far. Iraq is a country where half the population is under age 15. We've killed and maimed thousands of Iraqi children. Left thousands w/o parents. Around 300 American soldiers have died. Many more wounded. And the death toll is far from over.

Despite all this, conservatives still remain "steadfast" loyal to this crazy man. But Clinton needed to go because of his cigar affair.

And I keep asking: Who to hell does American think it is? What damn right do we have to attack any country we want? What right do we have to kill thousands any time we feel like it? What right do we have to occupy other countries? What right do we have to force our way of life down the throats of other countries? What right do we have to continue building nuclear weapons? Biological weapons? And then demand that all other countries stop. No goddamned wonder we're hated by so many.

I applaud the British people for having the guts to demand answers from Tony Blair. I applaud the German and French people for telling their government they wanted no part of this Iraqi Witch Hunt. And their governments respected the wish of the people. Now that's truly democracy at work.

We Americans like to tell the rest of the world that we are the greatest country on earth. Greatest democracy on earth. Land of the free--home of the brave.

Yet, so many follow so blindly. So many allow their government to control 'em. So many refuse to do what the people in Britain, France, and Germany have done.

This ain't an issue of loving your "government". I don't give a shit about the government. I care about my country. I love my country. I don't love or hate the government. You see, WE THE PEOPLE ARE THE GOVERNMENT!!!

One day, maybe, all conservatives who follow so blindly, may come to see that...before this country becomes what we Americans say we so loathe: An Iraq run by a dictator.
