He is saying that the Dems are going into a minority party position, and the polls show that this is so.

Glad to see you returning to your senses. <g>

I actually think they are going from minority party to minor party.

Even though those segments of the population that have historically voted Dem are growing at a rate that far exceeds that of the traditional GOP base? Which party do you see attracting this racial-minority vote in the future, if not the Dems?

It appears to me that Dean has snapped the Dems out of their recent malaise for the time being and set the tone for the upcoming pres races...TWT.

Speaking of the presidential races, as you know I have voted Libertarian for most of my life. I like the socially progressive/fiscally conservative/minimal governance stance they typify.

I used to back the GOP in most matters financial, overlooking their penchant for excessive spin and dirty tricks, until their recent borrow and spend binge turned them into the worst kind of fiscal stewards imaginable.

And the Dems' lack of spine in providing the opposition that democracy requires, has certainly not endeared them to me, either.

At this point, though, I don't see me "throwing my vote away" so that the Bushmeister can continue leading us into his own personal vision of Armageddon.

What to do, what to do?

"I actually think they are going from minority party to minor party. The collapse of the Soviet Union has killed Socialism, and this was the real basis of their economic program since Roosevelt."

You wont like this bill but during my lifetime this is the nineteeth time i have heard someone say that one party or the other was going to minor party status or disappear altogether. Remember Goldwater?
The winning party always f**ks things up or an independent comes along to shake things up. That is the beauty of the two party system. mike
