Perle has a Villa in France. Interesting that his quote was to a French Paper!.

Last month's VanityFair had a picture of Perle sitting in a chair. Someone noticed that the lighting, posture, expression looked like a picture of Goebbels. They printed both, side by side, and the two looked like twins. Tried to get to it on the net but couldn't. You have to take my word.

"Our principal mistake, in my opinion, was that we didn't manage to work closely with the Iraqis before the war, so that there was an Iraqi opposition capable of taking charge immediately," he [Perle] said.

Translation: We in DoD didn't win the Chalabi fight with State. State kept telling everybody that Chalabi was a bozo, don't trust him, and we failed to counter the argument enough to back him. So the current problems are State's fault.
