Difference between leaders - European Economies: Spanish Growth Accelerates on Building Boom

Sept. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Spain's economy, the fourth largest among the dozen countries using the euro, grew at the fastest pace in nine months last quarter as tax cuts boosted consumer spending and falling interest rates encouraged construction.

Spain's economy grew 0.7 percent in the second quarter from the previous three months and 2.3 percent from a year earlier, the government said in Madrid. Growth accelerated from the 0.5 percent rate in the first quarter from the fourth. ...............

Spain has created about 3 million new jobs since Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar came to power in 1996

this report only shows the spin we are facing in the US,(Spain GDP growth surpasses the US) they report growth quarterly not annualized and the GDP of Spain is without the defense spending which was 60% of US GDP and is actually a drag on the economy, not to mention the hedonic computation which include computing power of PC's used for data input or word processing or sit idle most of the time.

Some times I am thinking that the US public is to docile when compared to Europe. Both Clinton and Bush administration are standing by as the US public at large is being robbed of his savings or pension funds.

It is about time to stand up ....... election do not help street demonstration and strikes may help
