but was wondering if your getting psyched about the
Jets' opener tomorrow?

Oh definitely! <ng>

Growing up in NY, the network gestappo has always blacked
out any other game while the other NY team plays.
We don't have a choice but to watch the Jets.
(Actually with my subscription to Dish Network I now get
the West Coast feeds (along with the East) for the 4 major
networks so usually I get to see whatever they are watching
in Los Angeles. So typically I can pick and chose from at
least 6 games. Not bad since Direct TV's Sunday Ticket
costs about $240 per season where this deal with Dish
Network is almost free. I typically get the Raiders and
49ers along with the big games of the week.)

So I've been an observer of the Jets through the bad years
and have enjoyed watching them win more recently. The
Jets vs. Miami is a great rivalry with very exciting games
no matter how bad or good either team is during the season.

Tonight's game against the Skins has special interest for
me. As a Giant Fan, I can't help but hope to see
Washington get stomped on. I take special joy in seeing
that team struggle. They give me a bitter taste in my
mouth and hope Steve Spurrier never figures out what is
wrong with his team. I hope he gets 10 more quarterbacks
to try each week.

The rivalry between the Giants and Redskins goes back far.
We are talking football here. In real life the players are
probably a swell bunch of fellas. We are all one and the
same, etcetera, etcetera. But put them in uniform and it
breaks all the rules of peace, love, understanding, and
nature. For that Sixty minutes on the time clock, those
guys are the scum that sits at the bottom of the most
polluted puddle in DC area.

I want to see the Jets beat them badly. So badly that the
Skins will be afraid to even step on the field the
following week. So badly that it makes their little twerp
of an owner say more stupid remarks on camera. So badly
that their pride hurts like a migrain headache during bass-
drum practice.

Perhaps it is now becoming evident that I have not had my
coffee yet this morning and have to go to Manhattan... <g>
Need to meditate...

Just kidding about most of the above, but I certainly would
not be disappointed to see the Skins lose this one.

I notice Washington picked up a lot of the Jets players
from last year. Watch for Levernious Cole (Yeah, my
spelling might be way off...) He's a good WR that the
Jets hated to lose. There are a few others there as well.
The Skins also have a group of great defenders. Luckily
for the Giants, the Skins haven't figured out how to
harness all the talent on the Defense.

I bet Vinny throws a lot to his ol' favorite Crebett
tonight. I enjoy watching him catch. They also have Randy
Moss' kid brother Santana who is maturing and turning into
a fine receiver.

It seems that the Jet's defense may be a bit weak this
year. We'll see.

Hopefully Ol' Vinny has some life left in that arm of his.
He certainly is a sitting duck compared to Chad Pennington.

P.S. We'll have to bet a few megabytes in the Giants vs.
Rams game this weekend. Should be a good one. That game
might even get WharfRat to stiff about over here.

However the Biggest game for me this Sunday will be the
Mini Packers against the Hudson Valley Knights. I'm
running the defense this year and hope our kids shut 'em
down. Converting sweet second and third graders into Terry
Tate and Warren Sapp for an hour each week is not the
easiest thing I've ever done...
