i gave you my suggestion on how to do it. sure you can try other ways. i just told you what i would do and what i have done, every time i install or uninstall zonealarm on my computers

as for the the proper sequence, another poster nailed it perfectly the other day... #reply-19262361

this is the exact sequence to follow when resetting the modem or the router, or doing any work on the network.

edit in: yes, pull the plugs to disconnect, patricia. for the router and for the modem.
