Actually, you're right. Conservative states out west aren't happy about the Patriot Act at all. It's about time that conservatives woke up and realized that the biggest threat to their liberties is in fact the federal government. Only the government (be it federal, state or local) has the power to screw people any way they wish.

You may be a Libertarian but that doesn't (obviously) make you intelligent.

It doesn't obviously make me intelligent, I agree. (You probably meant to say that being a libertarian obviously doesn't make me intelligent, but let's deal with one issue at a time, shall we?)

And, incidentally, since when - and based upon what - does political party affiliation reflect upon intellect?

The most Libertarian state in the union seems to be Alaska and they are resisting the Patriot Act II on a state level. Good for them.

I agree, good for them.

They obviously see the threat to liberty in PA II that you cannot.

You haven't yet asked me a single question or probed my thoughts on the Patriot Act, so what makes you think I don't see a threat to liberty in the Patriot Act?

Are you reaching that conclusion because I find, in light of the evidence displayed...assertions that (a) Bush, and/or his Administration, and/or Israel, and/or a shadowy, secret group of major multinational corporations were behind 9/11 or (b) that the Council on Foreign Affairs constitutes some modern twist on the old Illuminati conspiracy tales...completely laughable?

And on many levels you cannot see any threat to liberty in the trends in America today. That's not just your loss, it's mine too. Because every person who accepts the loss of their liberties also diminishes mine.

As I said previously, you - with a pronounced, continually demonstrated, readily apparent lack of rigidity in reasoning (see below) and exhibiting no demand for credible documentation to support conjecture (also below)...serve, if nothing else, as more of an enabler of government and oppression than anything else.

I don't see any point in continuing any dialog between us.

That is, without a doubt, the first logical conclusion you've reached yet, and probably your best bet; especially, I'll say, if the specious "sources" you've dredged up thus far are as good as you've got.

I have given you many leads and sources of information...

Let's take a look at what you've brought to the table, shall we?

A series of uncited quotes - purporting to document...something?...which you also never provided any documentation for.

A list of the members of the Council on Foreign Relations. (How this, in and of itself, is supposed to document their involvement in a global, deep and broad conspiracy, defies any logic whatsoever.)

"Second degree charlatanism:" a link to a site with no documentation whatsoever. (Passing the buck, I suppose...? Something along those lines. It's a worthy lesson, though, underscoring that words in print are lent a degree of gravity, especially where the aggressively unquestioning comprise the audience.)

Now; how exactly how convinced do you think those forays into pedestrianism should leave me?

...which you choose to ignore...

Every post above has a reply to it. Are you awake?

...while at the same time name calling.

Show me where I've called you a name.

So end it here. Show some restraint and don't post to me.

I will continue to post to you, and question your assertions, as I opt to. You have the option of putting me on Ignore, banning me from your threads, or both.

Ain't freedom grand?
