LB,
The 4th ID has a lot of tanks...but ID stands for Infantry Division and all of those guys riding around in 4th ID Bradleys are Infantry troops...MOS 11B. The division has four Infantry battalions and five armor battalions.

Even Mech Infantry soldiers carry rifles...The pistols you are hearing about is the standard sidearm for many tank crewmen.

One of the 4th ID armor battalions is 1-69...A platoon from B Co, 1-69 reinforced my A team during the battle of Ben Het in 69. We were glad to have them when the Soviet PT 76 tanks hit us on 3 March.
