Nor does it seem to be in their interests. In fact, it seems to be in our interests to get more help from the UN. I have no intention of trying to change your (or anyone else’s) views on a politically charged subject like “what's going on in Iraq”. Some may think they have such “powers of persuasion”; I’m sure my abilities are far too limited. Only because of the seriousness of the matter do I even offer my views, for consideration. Prior to the period immediately before the 2000 election, I never expressed a political view on the net. You know the ole admonition - Don’t discuss politics, religion or the other person’s family. In the fall of 2000, seeing my country headed for a disaster, I relented and bemoaned a choice of “dumb and dumber”, either of which I feared presaged a disaster. Why? Because a Prez will be tested. The dumb rarely pass the test – that’s why they’re called dumb. So in that spirit, I’ll offer a view to be considered. In August, the “problem” in Iraq took a new turn. Starting with the Jordanian Embassy a series of similar vehicle bombs have destroyed targets that share a common attribute – all of the targets were “collaborating" with the CPA. Unless you believe that some existing group had morphed their MO, then a newly arrived group had gotten themselves sufficiently organized to begin operations.
