After a string of setbacks, President Bush had to confront the obvious last night, that the postwar conflict in Iraq is not going well and that it will take considerably more time, money and sacrifice for the United States to prevail than he had told the country when he launched an invasion last April.

That's interesting. I don't know of anyone who thought it was going to take less time, money and sacrifice than Bush called for last night. It seems to me everyone was warned up front that the global war on terror would take years -- 10, 20 maybe. I don't seem to remember anyone saying, last April, that it was only going to take six months to get out of Iraq. In fact, I seem to recall EVERYONE saying, "We don't know, but that's not the issue, it has to be done".
