Could be wrong, but "I" should be used only in a subject. Dominick and I went to town yesterday. We bought something for Jim and me - "I" becomes an object and has to turn into me. It is hard to use "I" at the end of a sentence.

EXCEPT - when it refers back to the subject. Jim likes football more than I - but my old style guide says you should fill in all the verbs, Jim likes football more than I do.

Of course, the current generation doesn't seem to know a subject from an object from a hole in the ground. I only started to grasp English grammar fully after learning a Slavic language that used grammatical cases like Latin does.
