It's my understanding that several million new jobs have been created.

What counts is net jobs to the economy. Sure some undoubtedly have been created, but many more have been lost. Since Bush has been president, millions of net jobs have been lost. In other words more jobs lost than created.

I believe the net figure is one million jobs lost since Bush jr. took the helm.
