Hi Jack Russell,

Tim Horton's is considered by many people to be an "upstart" because it has been only recently (within the last 3 to 5 years or so) that TH has expanded across the border into the USA, and has implemented a rapid growth program. Otherwise, yes... Tim Horton's has been around for years, but only in and around Canada. Most folks in the USA are not familiar with TH unless they make regular forays into Canada.

Yes, I believe I read somewhere that Wendy's now owns the controlling interest in Tim Horton's. And Wendy's is largely responsible for providing the impetus behind TH's recent growth moves.

Unfortunately, I've never eaten there myself, but I've heard from other posters like yourself (especially Canadian posters) that the fare at TH is quite good and very reasonably priced for the quality of what you get. Tim Horton's loyal customer base may have originated in Canada, but I'm looking forward to the day when I can try their food down here in the southwestern USA. Hopefully, I won't have to wait too long... <g>
