Indeed, Lizzie.

What I find hilarious reading this board is that the most vehement pro-Bush tax -- and all other business policies, such as offshoring corporate HQs exclusively to avoid paying US taxes -- monkeys are themselves in careers totally removed from corporate finance. From information they have chosen to reveal in profiles and often, discussions in posts. Some haven't worked at all. Ever.

In other words, they don't know a damned thing about it.

It is my experience that those who know the most about corporate taxation, accounting and finance have made such matters major priorities in educating themselves because their compensation is at stake.

Here is Oracle's annual income statement:

Last year, they paid $1.118B of income taxes
on pre-tax income of $3.425B.

That is 32.6%, which is higher than the
average tax rate for most individuals.
