Howard Dean proposed that the U.S. be neutral with respect to Israel/Palestine. John Kerry called this proposal a "radical shift" from the current stance and a bad idea. Hence we are currently radically pro-Israeli and that shouldn't change, according to Mr. Kerry.

It is possible Kerry didn't mean what he said and was just scoring cheap points with the Israeli lobby. But that doesn't exonerate him - that makes him a stooge of the Israeli lobby (a decidedly un-American, at times even anti-American, group of people) and a liar.
