We are really down here in Hawaii also. Waikiki tends to draw foreigners more than the outer Islands. The main beach, where I hang out, is obviously way down. And the number of Americans coming here is down also, although the outer islands have held up better.

I am really unhappy with the news this week that the Trust that owns the "International MarketPlace" the oldest Commercial on the Beach, is going to tear it down in '05 and build a new center. There goes my dancehall!

The Bus system here is known as the best in the country, and the Teamster Drivers have been out on strike for two weeks now for more money. They make more than the Teachers and Police, and could be replaced for 20% less on the open market, but we're a Union Town.

This is a "far left" state, and like the rest of the far left ones, broke. I expect Casino Gambling will finally get in when the pressure gets too much. The way we are situated, it would be a smashing success.
