The actual outcome in Waco was the worst possible one.

Everyone in the compound was killed.

Waiting them out wouldn't have cost much, it
couldn't have resulted in a worse outcome than
what actually happened, and it might have resulted
in a better outcome.

Law enforcement could have easily established a safe
perimeter around the compound so they were not
personally at risk. This was not in an urban
environment. The compound was in an isolated area,
and there were no nearby neighbors to worry about.

So, no, in my opinion, 51 days was not enough
patience to try to save that many innocent lives
WHEN THERE WAS NO RISK TO ANYONE
OUTSIDE THE COMPOUND!
