Hi Nadine Carroll; I'm not sure what your point is: "If the leaders of the Palestinians became convinced of the inutility of suicide bombing, then by your own admission suicide bombing, being political, would cease."

I think that your logic has huge holes in it.

The leaders of the Americans are convinced of the inutility of flag burning (or political rioting, or lynching, or whatever other politically violent action you care to name), but it still goes on in this country, at least every now and then.

As usual, you seem to be confusing the suicide bombers with the Palestinians, and both of those groups with the Palestinian leadership. If you assume that all three groups are the same, I think that your logic might make sense. But they're not, any more than different groups are the same in any other country.

This reminds of how Adolf Hitler noticed that some of the socialists and communists were Jewish, and then when he got into a war with the communist USSR, had all his Jews killed. He was confused between the concept of national identity, and individual identity. He was able to convince a lot of people to help him in this.

Refusing to see that different groups are different is one giant step down the road to how you convince a group to commit genocide.

Those who use their youth for suicide bombing have an ample supply of volunteers, not only because of indoctrination, but because they live an intolerable life under Israeli occupation. I find it curious that you find it so hard to accept that Israel has played a major role in sustaining the violence by making life impossible for Palestinians. Israeli political leaders and the Palestinian leadership both share a portion of the blame for the tragic cycle of violence.
