My uncle has another term: Turkey mites. We don't really know what we got. What surprised the doc was the 10-day delay between the time we got them and the symptoms showed up. I scrubbed away the insects, and then I immersed myself in a chlorinated pool several times. I thought the chlorine would kill them. We got rid of insects b4 we left Kentucky. We were so worried about rattlesnakes and copperhead snakes at my uncle's place that we forgot to spray ourselves with insect repellant b4 we headed for the woodland trails. My mom told me last night my uncle shot another rattlesnake last week!! If that's not bad enough, he plowed into two yellow jacket's nests. They came after him while he was spraying them with Raid. Kentucky has beautiful woods on its rolling hills, so I never imagined the hazards you faced in the woods even though I grew up in the midwest.
