There were many who felt they had to give the President and his administration the benefit of the doubt when he said he knew for sure certain facts which were the basis of the war. The people and the public of the United States are not really familiar with a cabel of completely corrupt individuals. Those of us who have witnessed politics in Mexico (Where Rove got his inspiration) and similar locales knew better what to expect.
