This doesn't add up either.
If a guy walks in, and says he is from Saddam, willing to negotiate ANYTHING... what do you do?

Keep him.

Lock him up, don't let him leave. We have all the cards.
We don't need to give this guy "safe passage" anywhere.
Everything he offers we will get eventually. What would it help the 1,2, three, US soldiers a day if Saddam resurfaced publically, in a safe place? Better video tapes to exhort people to "rise up" from a villa in Belarus?

This has "bogus" written all over it. If he is "trapped" why would not US Forces continue with business as usual?

Where is the "second source" on this story? I mean the news agency's 2nd source.
