brent, Timothy must have been one of the first tele-evangelists. Who is he to determine which questions are foolish

timothy did not write those words. that is an epistle written to timothy by the apostle paul.

Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.--Proverbs 14:33

The word Jesus, is not seen in the book of Genesis. If you are referring to vague references of a Messiah, that won't cut the mustard

only vague to those with a veil upon their heart. you are not seeking God with all your heart, soul and mind, rather you are looking for any excuse you can come up with to deny him. you are challenging God to prove himself to you on your terms. i think you would benefit from a newfound spirit of humility, where you approach God with a contrite heart. ask God to reveal himself to you, do not harden your heart and challenge him to do it on your terms. God is looking for humble servants, not demanding critics.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.--Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility. --Proverbs 15:33
When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.--Proverbs 11:2

You said that "Jesus" is in every book of the Old Testament, but the word Jesus does not appear. Besides that, Jesus is not the Hebrew name that the Lord had. It is a Greek translation from Joshua, or Jeshua.

the new testament was not written in hebrew, so what purpose would be served by translating Jesus into hebrew? you say that Jesus is not found anywhere in the old testament, yet now you choose to use the old testament hebrew language to translate his name. the new testament was originally written in greek (and some aramaic). the new testament never has been a translation from hebrew. therefore you will not find Jeshua or Yeshua in the original texts of the new testament where we find the name Jesus used.

The only thing you have to back up your belief in every word of the Bible, are the words written in the Bible.

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.--Proverbs 2:6

Now that will really hold up in court

well the difference between you and i is that you seem to esteem judgements in the court of worldly opinion, and i'm far more interested in gaining the esteem of an heavenly judge.

Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.--Proverbs 17:24

If you are content ot walk the Earth in your cloud of dogma, over logic, that is your privilege

it is written, the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. i would suggest you read the last handful of verses in 1 corinthians chapter three.

This is an interesting discussion, but is apparently bogged down with quotes and references, neither of which are necessary when discussing Godliness and Divine Presence... Brent's constant references to some passage here and there is agreeably offensive to the logical mind, but the application of logic to these questions is not the best way to understand them, logic itself is limited, and logic can also be defective and deceptive...
