To: haqihana who wrote (37962 ) 10/2/2003 8:31:17 PM From: Cyprian Read Replies (1) | Respond to of 59480 brent, Well, Paul never knew Jesus didn't you make the claim in an earlier post that Jesus touched you with his own hand? so are you claiming that you know Jesus but paul did not? why should we accept you at your word but not accept the words of paul? All that Jesus asked us to do, was to believe in Him as Lord and Savior, which I do, and is all the qualification He requires umm, you just got done writing that you, "do not rely on the words written by humans that had their own agendas". well then what exactly are you referencing when you presume to tell us what Jesus requires of us? where exactly did you come up with this requirement?Believing in Jesus as I do... if you believe in Jesus, how come you do not believe his Word?God never asked anyone to believe in the bible. with all due respect, how do you know what God has asked of anyone? were you there? the only way of ascertaining what God asked of people is to read his WORD, which you clearly deny! Those that touted the truth of the bible were those that wrote it let me help you out a bit. turn to John 5 and read what Jesus himself had to say:"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." Jesus told us to search the scriptures and he said they testified of him. 10% of Jesus' quotations are from the old testament. Jesus said, "For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?" . if Jesus quoted old testament scripture, said that scripture testified of him, and spoke of moses who wrote of him, i don't see how you can claim to believe in Jesus yet simultaneously reject his word?If you want to follow the written words of men, then you are missing the greatness of God all scripture is given by inspiration of God. if you actually spent more time reading God's word rather than criticizing it, you might come to appreciate this.Since the New Testament was written in Greek, why should we use the name they provided? you are the one who brought up the hebrew name Jeshua. i simply pointed out that the new testament wasn't written in hebrew so there is really no sense in trying to exalt the hebrew way of saying Jesus unless hebrew is your native tongue. If you want to have the esteem of the heavenly judge, maybe you should use the common sense he gave you, if your posts are any sort of example of the common sense you make reference to, i think i'll stick with the word of God.instead of following the words of men blindly haqihana, the word of God makes it quite clear how we can free ourselves from the blindness that is enveloping our heart and mind. turn to the Lord and ask him to take the vail away so that your mind will no longer be blinded. But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. --2 Corinthians 3:14-16 I don't understand anyone that believes in men, so completely, can then attribute their opinons to a power such as God. you are just such an example. you put your faith in the words of men. godless men who give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. your belief in evolution is one example.
