Like Churchill, Lincoln, and a number of other great leaders in wartime, he was not knowlegable about (or much interested in) economics, and generally conceded those issues to the fools of the day. The current Dems ARE the fools of the day. There are periods of time when economics takes a back seat to the survival of the republic. Nixon not only turned around the Cold War, he was the FIRST president to identify the tragedy that the Democratic party had willingly transformed itself from a loyal opposition to a viscous fifth column for ANY enemy who aspires to destroy America. The difference between the Dems of today and Nixon:

They are NOT pro-American, and they take PRIDE in their contempt for America.

Nixon sacrificed his career for his country (whereas Clinton, for instance, rendered a recession and 91101 to FURTHER his career). The domestic enemy who destroyed Nixon are still here today, and now are attempting to destroy US.

Nixon was destroyed by the left wing fabrication-Watergate-because, consistent with his oath of office (as well as his principles), he stood and OPPOSED the anti-American domestic enemy-at a time when they had enough momentum to destroy even a president who stood in their way.

Today, 80% of us are standing to oppose this viscous domestic enemy, and will deliver it a fatal political blow in 2004. 91101 is the catalyst, but Richard Nixon was once the voice in the wilderness. Few presidents have the vision to see into the next century, but the history of the American Renaissance, now only beginning to emerge, was authored by Richard Nixon...
