The only thing to remember is that now they are playing for the whole enchilada. The consequences of letting the inevitable happen is the end of the world as they know it.

If there is anything they can, essentially at any cost (except to them of course) to postpone the day of reckoning, they will.

These guys are way beyond desperate, and as desperate is desperate does.
