That security fence/wall could very quickly become the new border between Israel and the PA.> I agree with this assessment, but I do not see any real ability to thump both sides -- only an ability to thump one side, and this will not do it. Blame will not suffice. A fence will not suffice. Rockets, gunships and tanks will not suffice. Only a settlement in which there is a future for Palestinians and Israelis will suffice. Israelis, despite their many hardships and suffering, have a future without a peace accord -- but it could be far better. One key to the quality of life of the Israelis is to be sure that Palestinians also have a future -- and right now they don't. This has been my central point -- a young Palestinian could reasonably conclude that under present circumstances it is better to die a martyr -- and many have chosen that path for reasons that others have suggested.
